2017 Litter Clean-ups

  • 2017 Litter Clean-ups

Over the past two months, Housing Cambridge has organized and ran litter clean-up events at our six family sites. At these events, residents are encouraged to spend some time improving the condition of the space they call home, and are then invited to enjoy a community barbecue with their neighbours. In addition to contributing to the natural beauty of our properties, these annual events serve as opportunities to deepen connections among residents as well as between residents and staff.

All six litter clean-up events were great successes. One site, 75 Anglerock Drive, produced approximately 20 volunteers, and just as many full bags of trash. On top of leaving each property in immaculate condition, our two new summer students, Jason and Raffi, were able to begin developing relationships with residents. These clean-up events demonstrate the value of merging community engagement, relationship building, and recreation.
